After restoring and repairing more than few amps and electronic items, I don’t leave electronics on while it is not in use. Good portion of my electronics failed due to failed capacitors and/or heat dissipation failures. As far as I am concerned, more exposure to heat will produce more failure of system. Electrolytic capacitors are hard not to be leaky heat will dry off electrolytes. Some resistors are constantly under load to become “slow cooking heating element” to char PCB’s. I prefer hard mechanical power switch to power off the items I love to keep long years. As long as your house meets current electrical grounding code, you may not need to unplug from wall sockets. -Opinion by a self claimed Uneducated electrician.
